News Testing & Race Reports

Qualifying for this weekends United States Grand Prix has been delayed until 9am on Sunday morning after heavy rain caused by Hurricane Patricia hit the circuit near Austin. The session which was planed to start at 14:00 local kept being delayed in thirty minute blocks.

Conditions like on Friday worsened after the third practice session and qualifying. Mercedes however topped the final practice session with Lewis Hamilton going fastest. Teams however did manage to keep the fans entertained with waltz from Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat, a makeshift canoe, breakdancing from a Force India mechanic, and a game of skittles using a ball and drinks cans from Toro Rosso’s Carlos Sainz and Max Verstappen.

The last time qualifying was postponed was in Australia in 2013. This weekend Lewis Hamilton could become world champion if he out scores Sebastian Vettel by nine points and Rosberg by two.
