Round one of 2015 season takes place at Albert Park home to F1 permanently since 1996. However its connection to racing pre dates that with the circuit first held the Australian Grand Prix as a non-championship event in 1953.
This weekend will be a challenge for all the teams the first race of season. McLaren mainly as they continue to get to grip with their Honda power unit and the big question is can anyone beat Mercedes. Both Nico Rosberg and Hamilton will want that second win down over but the fans will want Daniel Ricciardo to be the first Aussie to win since Alan Jones in 1980.

2009 – Jenson Button wins for Brawn GP on their debut in F1.
1996- Martin Bundle crashes out in spectacular style flipping his Jordan and walks away.
1994 – Michael Schumacher and Damon Hill crash out in the fight for the championship. The crash gives Shumacher a unbeatable 11 point lead giving him the championship going into the final race in Japan.
What to watch for
Albert Park is a street circuit which means that there is little run off and the circuit is lined with walls. With it being the first race drivers can be bit rusty many haven’t driver with a full grid since Russia last year. Also it is fast with high speed corners and ‘straights’.
